Regarding Tiaras

Misc. Questions

Purchasing Information

What is the difference between a crystal and a rhinestone? A rhinestone is a piece of glass, with silver foil on the back to give it sparkle. Beware of them in weddings. . .because of the foil they may show up as black dots in photographs.  Austrian crystals are more expensive than rhinestones, because they are made from leaded glass and light is reflected by their carefully cut facets.

How do I attach a comb to the tiara? I recommend using 3" clear plastic combs. Sew the comb to the inside rim of the tiara by taking one stitch between each tooth and looping it across the top of the comb.

Can a veil be attached to the tiara?  On most of our tiaras there are four loops, two near the front and two near the back, that can be used to attach the veil to.

What are the different veil lengths? There are several different veil lengths to choose from.  You choice should be based upon your personal taste as well as the styles of both the tiara and dress, (i.e. a shoulder length veil may look awkward on a large tiara.)

Blusher: Is usually worn over your face as you walk down the isle.  It is the veil that is lifted when the officiant says "You may kiss the bride!"  It traditionally just touches the shoulders.

Shoulder length: Also called a Madonna or Flyaway veil ranges from between 18"-27" with the standard being 24".

Chapel Length: Is a long veil that is supposed to just clear the floor as you walk.  The industry standard is 90".

Cathedral Length: Is a veil with very long train that.  This length is usually reserved for very formal weddings and ranges between 108"-180" in length.  At least 1 foot of the veil should trail on the floor.

Elbow Length: Ranges from 28"-36" in length with the most common being 30".

Fingertip Veil: Is supposed to be long enough to just graze your fingertips when your fingers are extended, usually 48" long.

Waltz Length: Also called a Ballerina or Walking veil.  Should be about 8"-12" above the floor with the end of the veil resting between mid-calf and ankles.  Usually 54"-60" in length.

How Do I pay? Due to the small nature of my business I currently only accept checks, money orders, or credit card payments through PayPal or X.com. (I may hold checks until they clear).

Why don't you accept Credit Cards?  Because of our size we do not have the ability to process credit cards.  Since most of our customers are familiar with eBay, it is hoped that the standard way of paying on eBay; that is by check, Money order, or through PayPal, will be equally accepted, and will not inconvenience the customers of Symphony Tiaras.

What is PayPal?  PayPal is a free payment service of x.com which assists in transferring payments from buyer to seller, they will accept Visa and MasterCard. Due to the speed with which payments are processed your order will frequently be shipped out the same business day.  If you sign up now with PayPal you will automatically get $5.00 in your PayPal account that can be used toward your purchase.

How Does PayPal payment service work? To pay with PayPal you must first sign up, a quick and easy process where they ask for your name, address, e-mail address, etc.  You then can make a deposit to your account using MasterCard or Visa.
